Welcome to the website of the Permanent Mission of China to the World Trade Organization.
China acceded to the World Trade Organization on Dec.11, 2001 after 15 years’ arduous negotiations. Joining WTO is a historical trend in the process of China’s reform and opening up, as well as the modernization drive. The accession marks that China has entered a new phase in its opening up and is of great significance to the improvement of the system of the socialist market economy and the development of the national economy .
The Permanent Mission of China to WTO was set up in Geneva on Jan. 28, 2002. It is a permanent representation to the WTO exercising the rights while fulfilling the obligations on behalf of the Chinese Government.
The Permanent Mission of China to WTO established this website with the purpose of providing the public with updated information on China and WTO. It’s my wish that this website would become a bridge between you and my country.
